ONNELA

Onnela Farm is located on the shores of Lake Inarijärvi, on the eastern edge of Sammakkoselkä, in the middle of the wilderness.

Onnela's living field is one of the old Sámi cultural places. The oldest original buildings in the residential area were built 1900's. Area includes an old main log building "pirtti", sauna and warehouse.

Today, our resort offers accommodation facilities such as the guest main cabin “kämppä”, the log cabin “kömmätti”, the all-wooden cabin “pelkka”, and the “sauna lounge” connected to the new sauna building. Other buildings include a dining hut, a canvas hut, a barn, wooden sheds, sheds and a hot tub.

The old buildings have been renovated to be as original as possible and the authenticity of the buildings has remained intact.

Jumping from modern to traditional is possible in Onnela. Onnela will not be replaced by an official electricity system but we will use solar electricity when it is possible.

The buildings are heated with firewood in the traditional way.
We use pure lake water for washing.

Distances, The beeline from Onnela to Nellim is about 20km, to Ivalo 42km and to Inari village 44km.
